Dudes, after being in Ft Collins this evening I’m not thinking Newhook is gonna be at BC for two years. I think there are NHL organizations that would try to keep him from ever playing at BC. Kaut and Bowers looked as good as they did in camp. Maybe 3×3 isn’t yet Byram’s thing but he still flashed skill, just looked a little lost.
The next time we all feel the need to complain about something Avs related let’s all take a step back and be thankful that Conor Timmins was given his career back cause it could have gone a different way.
Alex Beaucage can shoot the freaking biscuit.
Newhook’s skill is certainly going to play in 3v3, same as Beaucage’s shooting (and Burzan’s, as you saw). Gotta learn to play the game though. Newhook is about as raw as they come. How quickly he adjusts to NCAA will play a meaningful role in whether or not the Avs aggressively promote him. Two years is just a safe, conservative estimate for a kid with a lot of learning to do (similar to Makar).
Seeing Timmins out there was easily the best news of the evening. Please no setbacks now.

I don’t mind the Avs trading future picks for current players. The prospect pipeline is stacked, they can trade some picks and give the pipeline a chance to mature. Obviously not everyone will be a pro or an Av but trading some non-first future picks can help balance stuff out. Burakovsky seems a match as he is more of a scorer than a play maker, which is something we need. Hope there is a big headline early next week that pulls all this together …
