That was another great look “behind the curtain” from the BSN crew. In my oppinion you guys are taking journalism to the next level with this coverage. That was very poignant discussion regarding burnout, solitude and the meaningfulness of your chosen careers. I felt I should remind you that sports is not “just sports” but rather a great escape for many of us who also don’t necessarily feel that our careers/ lives are always meaningful. Sports are the greatest reality show on the planet and have historically been a great escape for many whose lives don’t offer them much other than suffering around the planet. A sports journalist fuels many a water cooler discussion or ever a moment or respiteful thought away from tedious paperwork. Even the tension between you over the usefulness of the plus / minus as a statistic show us how much you all care about what you do. Let me speak for many of us and let you know it matters and say thank you for doing it. Keep it up!

Thanks Chris. Yes, this is something I came to realize AFTER my burnout and kinda-sorta midlife crisis. Thanks for the good words.

Hey guys I’m having a hard time finding time to listen to all the podcasts, I try my best. But so this is coming in a bit late and hope you notice it.
I think you should bite in a bit more into Jesse’s point about the Senators being desperate to get their pick back. If that’s the case then the Avs are holding some serious cards in their hands. Wouldn’t that be delicious for further soeculation for what there’d be to shop on the Ottawa roster?
Remeber years back when Sakic said he tried to go for the number 1 defenseman? I’ve had this theory that lit up with the Duchene trade talk started that that was actually what started it all for Duchene wanting out. And I thought Sakic was after Erik Karlsson and offered Duchene in the deal for him. Later I’ve wondered if that could have been Subban but let’s think Karlsson for now because of that pick they want back.
Looking ahead to next season I don’t think we can rely on all the youngsters improving into stars and repeating the upset they did season. The Soderberg line overdid themselves and were superb all year long, now we’ll probably lose that too. So a serious threat could be going back to the bottom of the standings if there’s no big moves made. Erik Karlsson is definitely a game changer and would lift the level of this team significantly. I think they should go after him big time.
And yes bring in Bobby Ryan in the deal if you have to we need wingers anyway!
Loved the little details on the show, Adrian was a soccer goalie? Excellent!
