Jesse I remember a podcast last year where you said that EJ was the worst person that the Avs could lose and of course they had a 48 point season with him out (EJ’s fluke injury WAS when the Avs season hit the toilet that year). AJ reminded you about Mack and you quickly agreed that he would have been worse. EJ does NOT have anything close to a ready replacement, like Barrie does. That’s why folks are talking about trading Barrie. I think EJ’s still got a real good 5 more years in him and he’s going to help lead the Avs to one or more Cups in the next half decade.

What if the Avs new depth at D allowed EJ to play less than 28 minutes a night and it resulted in WAY LESS injuries for him?
