I feel sad that FiveFingers may have been right about that pick.

AJ, dude, no offense intended but you were repeatedly screaming “I hate it” into the microphone. On July 5th. It felt like you were freaking out. Who has been signed so far that you feel like the Avs really missed out on? Smith? Talbot? Hutchinson? Hamburgler? You read a list that included 3 cup winning goalies (Ward, Niemi and Darling did play 5 games with a .936 during the playoffs in Chicago last cup run so I’m gonna include him as a cup winning G) that seemed like it left you totally unimpressed with their ability to be a third, so who should they have signed?

I don’t feel like I’m a person who feels the need to justify whatever the Avs do, blocking Kamenev with Bellemare bothers me at least as much as it does you, but in all seriousness and with apologies for any accusations of you freaking out, isn’t an there almost endless supply of guys who could be a third goalie in the NHL at any time in the year?

I was sincerely surprised at your reaction and almost thought you were joking but I guess you weren’t. Maybe I’m the one not seeing this correctly but it seems a little early to be quite so agitated about it.

I doooooooooooo hate it. I hate that they’ve ignored it. They got super lucky with injuries last year when they had a good situation and now I’m worried they’re taking it for granted. I just remember Jeremy Smith and Calvin Pickard starting tons of games in the 48-point season and I’m not eager to return to it. But they have time to fix it. I just want it done 😀

Eh, the guy he wanted was Paul Bittner. So it’s not like he was right about the guy he wanted

In regards to the Kevin Labanc deal, could this not just be a matter of him wanting to stay in San Jose, regardless of contender status but, with the sharks as cash strapped as they are right now, can’t get paid until they’ve freed up some money next year?

Sure, but athletes only have so many opportunities to get paid and he did them a straight solid when he absolutely didn’t have to. If he blows out his knee and misses most of next season or underperforms or any of the myriad of things that goes wrong that causes his points to nosedive, he could have cost himself millions. And that’s totally his decision but athletes make those sacrifices at the end of their careers when they’ve banked a lifetime of savings, not the beginning when they haven’t come close to making enough to call it a career. It’s a bizarre decision.
