Brah, do you even hockey?
The amazing thing about Kessel is that he plays every game. I don’t think PGH is looking to trade him now that they’re back in it and the Avs don’t have anything they’re willing to give up that would help them get that next cup. Maybe they might want Wilson as part of something I guess. That would be funny seeing hippy, dippy Wilson being part of a trade for hot dog eating Phil. Also, fuck PGH getting another cup.
Could not possibly agree more on goaltending and look at it precisely the same way. All is for naught if they don’t solve that problem. We thought it was solved, I don’t think it is anymore, Joe needs to re-solve it.
QUESTION: What about checking with LA on Quick? There were rumors earlier in the season that they were shopping him. He’s not that much older than Patrick was and he’s got 2 cups (like Patrick) (I’m not saying he’s Patrick). But I suppose he is a little long in the tooth to match the Avs window and he’s become injury prone. Bob would be a much better solution.
RANDOM QUESTION: Out of the blue I decided to look up Morrison’s numbers yesterday to see if maybe he’s making some progress this year toward not sucking. 7-7-14 in 17 games so not a bad bounce back. Are you guys hearing anything about the Avs opinion on him and what might happen with him (leave ND at end of year, play another year)? I’ll say it again, after not being all that noticeable in rookie camp when it came time to play the 3 on 3 game he looked pretty damned decent. Like Landy (very) light.
WTF exactly did Jost do in Montreal to be shoved down to the 4th line? I’d really like to know because to me he looked like one of the best guys on the ice for us.
Ferland. It makes so much sense that I think there’s a chance of it actually happening. Not much of a chance but I’ll bet they’re thinking about it. He’s exactly what they need. Exactly what they need. He’d provide to the forward group what Z does to the D. Landy is the only forward who keeps the other team honest and his scoring ability has become too good to risk sitting in the box.
Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland, Ferland!

What Jost did was never really produce anything for a season and a half despite being given every opportunity. Jost looked like one of the best guys on the ice for us in Toronto because he belongs at 4C right now.
NoMoreRats
He had 4 points in the 4 games previous to MTL and I don’t remember anyone ‘producing’ that night. He won both faceoffs he took and had 3 shots in a whopping 11 minutes. What about that says shove him down to the 4th line and give him 7 minutes of TOI? I personally haven’t noticed him being given every opportunity but maybe there were some games that I missed, I’ll check my ticket stubs.
Nels
How many total points does he have over the last season and a half? They’ve even played him on the top line next to Mack and Rants multiple times! What do your ticket stubs have to do with that Sir?
Nels
Besides don’t we need SOMEONE to be 4C? Preferably someone decent that can make the entire line serviceable instead of a wasteland? That’s Jost, saves the whole 4th line. With Kamanev out, who would be better?

AJ you are terrific to listen to and those guys that are out-of-sorts with you on Twitter have no idea what they are talking about. I got your back dog. Although I’m someone that thinks Gurubauer belongs in the AHL more than Fracouz does, or, for that matter, more than Hammond did last year. Which means you recently called me some version of “ignorant”, and compared to you I am. But we’re not always going to agree, right? I still got your back dog.
Speaking of our disagreements, I think Jost belongs at 4C right now. He looked like a viable replacement for Kamanev in that game against the leaves. To me he has looked out of place and borderline NHL ready until playing 4C just last game in Toronto. I also liked Kerfoot at 3C. I think we need to just accept that we have two shabby 4th lines and wait and see if Kerf or Jost can turn one of their lines into something better.
And a question:
What makes you say you think Kaut or Bowers are better options for helping the Avs this year than Greer is? Have you too, given up on Greer? I don’t watch the Eagles much. Have you seen Kaut be that much better than Greer? I mean, to justify taking Kaut (.5 pts/gm in the AHL) over Greer (.82 this season)? Doesn’t Greer have the added benefits of being older, not currently adjusting to a totally new culture and ice size, having way more pro as well as actual NHL experience, and grit? And Bowers? You mean the kid that hasn’t done squat all in the NCAA this year? Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about because I don’t ever get to see any of these guys. I, for one, don’t understand why we haven’t seen Greer be given a real shot at RW2, am I that far off here? It’s not like he’s going to produce LESS than say, Jost has on the 2nd so far. Maybe he’d produce more? It seems to me like we just don’t know because he’s never actually been given a shot. I personally think this is FO/Bednar prejudice against Greer because he was Roy’s guy. Are you writing him off too?

Podcast Question: can you guys comment on the http://www.rawcharge.com article comparing scoring rates to WAR, as it pertains to the Avs? Girard, Zadorov, Calvert and Mikko all make appearances…
