Good podcast guys, very good final segment. The Avs didn’t deserve that win last night and they came within shouting distance of getting it anyway. Take some time to enjoy Cale Makar exceeding every reasonable expectation. 1-3-4 in 6 games and looking like a cat toying with a mouse when the cat is playing his 6th NHL game and the mouse is a 10 year veteran. He makes Sam Girard seem ho-hum. Think about that. The Avs response tomorrow night will be one of the more interesting barometers in Avs-land in a long, long time.

Good PC guys, always good to bring it back to reality, its just a game. Even though its frustrating watching the avs have their growing pain struggles, the overall and future outlook is great. No one thought the Avs were going to be playing second round playoff hockey after the anaheim game in mid march. So here is to them regrouping, digging deep and playing a great game four tomorrow night. You are right that sitting EJ and playing Nemeth is crazy. Just some frustration coming through. AJ, maybe a second career for you as sports therapist/counselor?

As others have said, this was a good listen boys.

EJ — I think there has been more games this year when he has played a fair bit under his usual level than there have been games he met or exceeded that level of play. I seem to remember you guys (or maybe Dater) wondering if he wasn”t playing well because he was pissed about not being on the power play or if him being paired with G was negatively affecting his game.
And great point about how Bednar has shortened his minutes because of sub-par play.
I don’t get the Nemeth > EJ thing some folks are ranting about either.

As to last night’s game, it was disappointing but not really surprising to me.
The Sharks did a really good job of preventing the Avs from getting spun up.
And when you couple that with the Avs being sloppy, things aren’t going to go well for the Avs.
But if the Avs play focused, disciplined, and get their jetpacks fired up, they can take this series.
