Maybe I’m one of the few old guys in here that remembers Claudie and what he meant to those early Avs teams. It was a different game then and I think teams had to have guys like he and Peter to win championships. That line with Val was just about unstoppable. Although he might have cost the Avs a couple runs in ’97 and ’98 because of the energy expended and focus lost with the “Blood Feud” games in March and later, I wouldn’t have traded him. He was the ultimate grinder/ sand paper guy and simply clutch in front of the net. What a Champion. It’s great to have a guy like AD that can make these calls and get these interviews.
