You guys are right. I have been seeing Bednar as not up to the task. He seems to have no plan to turn this around. But he will retain the job primarily because of the lack of alternatives. That is not a good place to be.

But as to punting the season, he has 30 days to turn this around or the season will be punted on its own. A coach is measured by how he responds to adversity. I don’t believe he has the ability to guide the team through ups and downs. We don’t know what goes on behind the doors, true, but we see the results on the ice. That is what we jusge on.

The article on BSN about the new Broncos coach and how you win with an underperforming team. You win and lose at inches. There is a lot in that.

I want Bednar to succeed. But he has to right the ship. That is how we measure a coach. They were never as good as they appeared early. I don’t believe they are as bad as they are now. He gets to show how good he is as a coach by at least turning back in the direction of the best and away from this…performance.

Bednar is fine. His only issue is that he’s not proven in the NHL. I think he’s a great coach. Us armchair GM’s will always have something to nitpick until we’re in his position.

Here’s my question for the next podcast: what’s your favorite sports movie, in general? Is it still a hockey movie, or something else? I’ll go first: My favorite sports movie is Cinderella Man.

AJ, listening to you talk about your likes and dislikes of the career was a lot of fun. As someone who was there in the early days of MHH, we were all very proud of you, and a little jealous. Not everyone lives their dream, and I think I can speak for a lot of people in saying that I’m proud of you.

As someone who suffers from PTSD, I love your commitment to mental health. There is a lot of different reasons for mental health problems, but all of them hold a certain weight and impact on our daily lives. The struggle against it is something all of us can appreciate and respect, and hopefully come together regarding. Those of us who deal with it are not always great at doing that.
