Turned this baby off after 10 mins, pretty disappointing when the guy who’s suppose to dissect the game “won’t” and just talks about only bad goaltending? Did you watch just the highlights or something? If you think boesers second goal was a lucky bounce and that if you don’t realize this isn’t 1999 and scoring is way up…you might be delusional…. hot garbage. Hopefully next pod is alittle more insightful

I appreciate the comment. And you’re right – I didn’t see the game too closely. I was mostly catching bits and pieces of it all night, as I was talking to a lot of people at IceHouse. So, thanks for the constructive criticism. I still submit Grubauer was brutal and the No. 1 reason why the game was lost, though.

I’ll keep my criticism in a neat little pile here with the other note. I personally can’t listen to the podcasts where everyone is shouting all the time, and there have been a few recently from loud locations like this one. I appreciate the relationships you guys have with these locations, but for recording podcasts, can you keep it to the reasonably quiet ones? It doesn’t make sense to record where you can’t be heard.

No discussion of Kyle Keefe’s scrum with a fan for a puck practically on top of a child? As punishment Altitude should send him on the 5 game Canadian road trip in January.

Hey AD if you thought the last 2 games were really bad goal tending examples you should been here the year Don Cherry coached the Rockies and had to use Hardy Astrom.

I actually thought this was one of the best podcasts this year. I thought the environment made you guys engage a little bit more and express your raw opinions. And I’m usually not a fan of screaming sports talk but this wasn’t contrived. It also prevented all the non-hockey BS conversation that I really don’t have time for or interest in. As long we’re on the subject you really don’t need to stick to a pre-planned agenda of good, bad, next game or whatever it is. Just talk about the damned game. Many times it seems like whenever someone starts to talk about something interesting it gets interrupted because it’s the wrong segment.

The goaltending was not the entire reason for the loss but it was by far the biggest reason. The team does look out of sync and I think the schedule has a big piece to do with it in addition to the injuries and and Bender’s constant dicking with the defensive pairs and lines 2-4. He may be creating more offense but he’s screwing with the very good defensive and transition game we saw at the start of the season. I think the scheduling is screwing with the goalie play as well.

I’m wondering if Kamenev is dinged again? I thought something happened to him about halfway through the Calgary game but can’t remember exactly and he hasn’t played much since. I didn’t listen to the whole podcast yet so maybe you discussed it and I generally don’t dislike Nieto as much as others but it sure would have been nice if he had hit that empty net at the end, maybe skate it just a bit more like Kamenev did in that pre-season game against Vegas? And before someone says it, those were starting Vegas players he did that against not guys about to be sent down.

Matt Calvert is 16th in ATOI and 3rd in PIM (he’d be second if Cole didn’t get 20 minutes the other night). He has 2 points, both assists. He’s a nice guy, sock tape manufacturers love him and he skates around like a chicken with his head cut off but I wish there would have been someone else from Columbus that those guys had felt compelled to sign. Can someone convince Chris McFarland that Nylander played in the Columbus org at some point?

As hard as it is we really just need to be patient. It’s hard because they’re so tantalizingly close to being a really good team but they need a little bit more time to gel and a few more pieces that are currently getting baked. It’ll be really interesting to see how good this team is at the end of the year. They just need to get into the playoffs and stay relatively healthy. And maybe stop playing the latest find from C-Bus over legit prospects either in Denver or in Loveland.
