BUFFALO, N.Y. – Vladislav Kamenev and Patrik Nemeth will, indeed, be in the Avalanche lineup tonight against the 2-1-0 Buffalo Sabres.
So, here are the new lines and D pairs:

Here’s what coach Jared Bednar wants out of Kamenev: “It’s a good time to give him an opportunity. He played a couple of games over the weekend (for the Eagles – two games, one assist) and practiced with us a couple days. He looks energized and ready to go.”
Bednar just wants Kamenev to be a good defensive player first, then worry about offense after that. He’s a big believer that good defense creates good offense. I remain worried about how the kid will fit in on a fourth line, but we’ll start to see for sure tonight.
Carter Hutton will start in goal for the Sabres, who are trying to win three in a row for the first time in 21 months. Hutton has a .943 saves percentage so far. Johan Larsson returns to the Sabres lineup after missing a couple games to injury.

Young team sending out an offer sheet and losing their 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounder. I’d love Nylander on the Avs but no thanks.. can’t sacrifice everything for one player.

If we could get him long term and manage to make it work cap wise I would have no issue with giving up those picks. We have Ottawa’s first still, and 2nd and 3rd round picks in one draft will most likely never amount to the type of player he is. In this case it’s better to look at what you are gaining over what you are losing.

That’s not a consideration at all w/Wilson playing the way he is, w/Rantanen up for his next contract, and then next year Girard, Jost, Kerfoot and Compfer needing them. Also you offer sheet Nylander, and Rantanen’s agent is going to say well you set the bar and Mikko deserves more because he scored 20 more points last year than Nylander. No thanks.
