So I hate that my mind keeps going back to Crosby (insert Hawkeye “don’t give me hope” gif), but Seravelli said on X and on Daily Faceoff clip that Rantanen wasn’t the biggest name on the trade board. Who is bigger than Rantanen that could even feasibly be traded. That list is pretty darn small. Crosby and who else? I struggle to come up with another name that could fit that description.

Elias Pettersson is probably the guy. He was thisclose to being dealt to Carolina in a Necas-centered package.

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve watched Nate fly into the O-zone and pull up because he was waiting for the other Avs to catch up to him. A line with Nate, Val, and Necas might mean he has someone to whom he can work at his speed more often and it just gives the team a fresh look that will be tough to figure out for awhile. And yes while you don’t give up premium assets to get face-off wins it’ll sure be nice to see the team win a few

I haven’t felt that Mikko was the same player he was during the Cup year and before. Last year Arturo’s dad made a big stink when he said to a reporter that Mikko didn’t work very hard in the summer to prepare for the 23-24 season. Last year and also this year I never felt Mikko was engaged. His effort level wasn’t good. His puck handling below average, and so was his over all physicality. If he was the Mikko of old I would have like to have resigned him, but what we were getting, I’m glad he’s gone.

AJ, with the cap savings this year, can they, at some point activate both Nichushkin and Landy at the same time during the regular season? If Landeskog is ever going to come back it has to be for this year’s playoffs right?

As of this moment, no, they won’t be able to activate Landeskog without making other moves.
