Great article AD. The Hedman slash of MacKinnon’s stick inside the TBL goal crease ended up costing us a point. Too bad the refs did not catch that obvious minor penalty…

What a game! After the third goal, I seriously considered not watching the rest (I was watching it, like I do all games, on NHL.tv after it was over). So, I asked someone to check for me if the game was worth watching (ending within one goal or an Avs win) and they said yes. I was ready to be really pissed at them for checking the wrong game when it was 5-1, but wow what a comeback!

I just hope they can keep this kind of play going, especially next game against Pittsburgh.

It would be nice if we could have a “consequences” penalty, so if Namestnikov is out for two games, so is Johnson, but if Namestnikov miraculously recovers after two minutes, Johnson should be eligible to return to the game after serving the major. Or how about this? In the NFL, you can decline a penalty. Tell Tampa Bay that Johnson is out for the game, but so is Namestnikov. If they wish to decline, Namestnikov is eligible to return and Johnson just serves the major. That will stop teams from pretending a player is badly hurt and then putting them out on the power play.

Randy yer a genius. If the NHL cared at all about fairness or injuries, your idea would probably already be in place.

I keep seeing that Obi-Wan Kenobi slash against MacK replay in my mind (and maybe that’s warped of me). You’re right, it was a thriller. I just wanted it so badly, and TBH felt we should have won. Instead we got ∅.

You have to wonder if Varly would have pulled it out?

Dates, you disappoint me! wheres the Bernier bashing for weak goaltending? I mean cmon… 2 of those goals for sure he literally slid out of the crease and the puck trickled. why was he NOT pulled??? get Varly in there to start the 3rd at the very least. read that your goaltender doesnt have it tonite and try someone else. they were just one or two good Varly stops away from taking this game from Tampa and getting some revenge for the last game in which they were completely dominated. ♥ Landeskog ♥ also, I dont wanna jinx it, but Macky is working his way to back to back 1st Stars in consecutive months? the guy is an absolute beast right now! but lets not forget Zads!!! how much has this guy improved withing the last what 15 games? he’s finally coming around to being a solid and consistent player like he was towards the end of last year, especially w that goal tonite which @TMVHF points out was his goal and not Mackys.

If what happened to Namestikov had happened to be against an AVs player there probably wouldn’t even have been a penalty. The slash on Mack was a no call. I guess we know who the NHL wanted to win.
