I’m definitely still processing as well. It just doesn’t make sense. The weirdest part for me is that there seemed to be a profound lack of fire in their response as it slowly unraveled all series. Whenever we would punch, Vegas would respond and punch back, often harder, with effort, focus and commitment to their game. But the Avs never had that punch back. There were a couple of small flames, like the one shift in Game 4 after Necas got injured with an illegal hip check, where Nate and Landy were flying around with a vengeance. But then that flame died with the ensuing penalty. But for the majority, it seemed like they were just flailing. So reminiscent of the last Vegas series loss in ’21 where we just couldn’t ever get out of the muck. They were letting it affect them, which led to lack of focus and being on their heels – bad passes, mishandling the puck, terrible defensive coverage lapses. So much of this seems mental. Where is the mental fortitude to fight back and really lock in when the going gets tough? Instead, it seemed like they just got rattled and had no way of snapping out of it.
