Is it just me or has the mobile format of the site gone screwy, with a big lo res half logo at the top banner, and no access to the sidebar menu?

Now we’re making sense. Why go out and spend big dollars for an underproducing free agent (Cole, Calvert, Beauchemin, Stuart, and on and on and on) when we have guys like Jost, Kaut, Bower, Valsenev(sp), Newhook coming, Greer, O’connor, Meloche, Graves. the 38 million doesn’t need to be spent this year. It needs to be there to pay our players when the their contracts are up.

First off, most of those guys were signed when we didn’t have all these guys in the system or when they weren’t ready (Meloche). Beauch, Stuart, although they aren’t sexy signings, were necessary at the time; you can’t just play rookies. Cole and Calvert are not bad signings at all at the time, however, now Cole is one of 2 (Johnson) clogging our D from being able to come up – so that kinda sucks. Calvert could be pretty decent Seattle bait, too.

Free agency should never used to build a winning team. However, supplementing areas of need while players are developing when you have a team ready to make a run at a cup is an absolute must in my opinion. We have the cap space to go spend $10M if we want to… I don’t think we should overextend on the amount of FA’s we grab, or the $$$, but grabbing Panarin would be perfect (even at $10M+). You definitely don’t need to be adding multiple big names for long term on Monday, but a solid, expensive guy would be a great move for this team.

We’ll be fine on $ when those guys need contracts.

I’ll give ya Cole and Calvert not being horrible signings, but Stuart as a terribly bad signing as soon as it was done. And FB was just an ass.

I think we’ve got a great locker room. what happens to that when you bring in a stranger for nearly twice the amount of your best player. That’s when trouble begins. It’s true that at the time of some of these signings we didn’t have a lot of comparable players, but I was just using those names to illustrate that most of the time, not all of the time, you’re buying a pig in a poke

Love this content and couldn’t agree more it is the reason why a BSN sub is worth every penny. Beats the snot out of click bait BS any day!

They just traded a 2020 2nd and 3rd round picks for Andrew Burkakowsky(sp) from the Caps. He was a RFA. Hopefully he’s that last one they bring in. Let’s give our players a chance.

Does anyone else see a bit of duchene in this kid? Similar stature, edge work, the hands, questions about his game in his own zone, etc….
