Blackwood seems like the best choice in terms of expected play and status as a fairly low salaried guy with no term. I like the idea of the bigger guy who can play similar to how Kuemper played in the 21-22 season and not give up so many top shelf goals where he looks like he’s crouched down to prevent the shooter from tunneling one under him. They may have to give up a high pick and a prospect to get them to take back Georgie but it’s really got too be done

Great article, AJ. I laughed out loud. Then I cried. Quietly.

Great Article AJ, it illustrates well how the Avs have put themselves in a bind with a bad money ball roll on Goergiev. Had he played consistently like his first year, great roll by the Avs FO, but year 2&3 blew it up. The reality is there are no real good options. There are only more moves that require hoping and praying that they work after giving up more assets. Avs need a miracle….

I think when it comes to goaltending, there are about 26 teams just making a dice roll and the six who aren’t got lucky somewhere along the way. That’s how it be sometimes.

Love the article – was waiting for someone to put together a comprehensive overview like this. My list in order (assuming Sorokin would never be an option – honestly hadn’t even considered that before):
Blackwood
Vejmelka
Talbot
Gibson
Vladar
Just keep Georgie and punt this year
