Not sure why the team is hopefully for Nieto’s return? When is Greer going to get his chance to help out the bottom 6?

Because Nieto beats the hell outa Dano, Dries, Bourque and Calvert. I totally agree with you about Greer however. I’m looking forward to the day we see Compher, Greer, Wilson and Nieto instead of those other 4. Probably won’t happen though, Bednar likes Bourque and Calvert way too much.

Question for the pod: With Chiarelli in desperation mode trying to save his job, should Sakic/McFarland try to get in on his history of stupidity (Seguin, Wheeler, Hall, Eberle, the pick that would have been Barzal) and try to get Jesse Puljujarvi for Marko Dano, a second rounder and a bag of pucks?

Anybody feel like we should start giving some opportunities to see who wants it:
Greer of course
O’Connor ?
Meloche ?

It has been frustrating watching Z struggle after he looked to be on an upward trajectory last season.
And I’m all for the coach benching anyone when necessary. But I think Bednar might have jumped the gun a bit this time.
All that points to what your opening couple of paragraphs nailed — Cole’s steadiness is very valuable as the youngsters wobble along. There’s very little flash to his game. But I like a quietly effective D-man…old school I guess.

Personally I feel more comfortable with the Avs trying to come from behind than I do about them having a lead. Ever since that Calgary game (you know the one), they look like a better team when they are trailing.

A.J. – any chance you can write some type of review on how our younger players are doing their development in Loveland? I really want to see what Meloche or Graves can bring to the Avs?
