Brodziak didn’t so much fall out of favor with the Wild, as became a victim of the numbers game.
Basically the Wild had room for one veteran 4th liner to be the sand paper with Haula and Schroeder’s speed and skill game. Brodziak’s day 1 of UFA ask was 2 million to be a 3rd liner somewhere, which there just isn’t a spot in Minnesota for. So the Wild moved on and signed Carter and his elite PK ability.
By the time Brodziak came to the realization on what the market was, the Wild had filled his spot. Combine that with being at 49 contracts once all the RFAs sign(48 once JEE slides in Europe) and there just isn’t room.
