Let’s take it to em hard on Sunday. Seems like the boys are figuring out how to play these kind of games. There was much less sustained pressure in our zone in this game (although there were still a few scary stretches). Great experience.

The Preds fatal mistake last nite was thinking that, even though the score was tied, that they could recreate the sustained pressure of game 4 without risk, yet the Avs were doing a much better job this game of disrupting/preventing that. They were all deep in the zone and a 2-on-1 springs the other way. Boom!

I love that the hockey world just continues to write us off. That’s when we are at our best, when nobody see’s us coming!

Great article AD…Honestly, I already accepted the fact that the Preds will be moving on the next round after Bonino’s goal, hoping that the Jets will “kick” their behinds… but was pleasantly surprised of the Avs’ late push and eventual win…boy, this team is learning to fight through adversities, and are treating us fans to one helluva ride…Hamburglar was rock solid… President Trophy winners eh?

I’m with Skyler. This is my only online subscription, and it’s worth every penny for the hockey coverage alone! I was hoping we’d see the Hamburglar this series, and what a story it is: 52 saves on 53 shots thus far! Go Avs!

Except that one goal wasn’t even the result of a shot…52 saves on 52 shots and a kick.

They say there wasn’t a distinct kicking motion and that may be true but Bonino nearly broke his ankle trying to turn his skate to deflect it in. I think the rule should be that the only good goals off a skate are pure accidental deflections where the player isn’t looking at the puck and trying to direct the puck into the net. Intentional stick deflections and intentional skate deflections for goals are no different – except only one is off a stick – the way hockey was meant to be.

My brother bought me a subscription for my birthday. It’s the best.
My favorite image came from the end of the game as the teams were leaving the ice, the Nashville fans were just standing there. No one left, they were just shocked. Go Avs!

Isn’t it amazing how fun this ride is especially when you consider the Avs are missing some MAJOR players from the roster at the moment? I love how the entire hockey world continues to believe Colorado are just pushovers who are just happy to be in the playoffs that they’re supposed to be a welcome mat to get the Preds warmed up for their Cup run. The Avs just keep punching Nashville in the mouth and you can see they are rattled now. I love it!

The preds will certainly try to adapt… every game is a new set of challenges. But it certainly seems to be our Avs are figuring things out.
