Might have just been me, but didn’t ever think Minnesota was going to win. Also how awesome was Mikko and MacK on what ended up being the game winner?

Besides the lack of scoring the first period was a beaut. The defense, forecheck, back checking, offensive zone presence, and passing were amazing. The team looked down right terrifying. Had they gotten a goal before Minnesota I think it would have carried on throughout the game.

This looks like the best defense I’ve seen for the AVS in 10 years, and they could get better. Also really liked Kerfoot’s game.

I just don’t see Borque playing on the 3rd line.

I would love to see the Avs move JT up to the third line to play RW
with Neat and Soda.

Rather see Calvert, Soda, Comph .. not sure if that makes sense, not a big fan of Neat’s game… he’s just there it feels like. Im really hoping Calvert plays the way he did last night all season. Huge upgrade on Comeau….

I agree with this as a third line, but that would leave Neito-Dries-Bourque as the fourth line – woof! Maybe once Sven or Kam come back, the third line will look better.

Your comment about silly rule made me wonder why the NHL complains about scoring being low all the time but won’t allow a puck to be kicked or punched into the goal? I think it would make at least a dent in the scoring conversation if you allowed them; more over time as players begin to plan moves around it like Landeskog’s ridiculous but awesome shootout kick move at fanfest!

Okay, maybe not that but.. still.. it’s fun to think about an NHL with another dimension of scoring goals.

The traditionalist in me hates the idea of it but the pragmatic person who likes scoring and appreciates creativity and skill says yolo go all in with it. Remember in the playoffs a few years ago when Andrew Shaw headbutted a puck into the net and it was disallowed? That was an awesome moment! And it’s now a footnote in internet comment sections like this one. Maybe don’t go all out in allowing craziness but certainly Wilson’s goal last night was a rule gone just a little bit too far.

I’d still be interested in knowing how many of those 40 shots are considered quality or high scoring vs garbage opportunities from low scoring areas.
