I watched the Ducks-Kings game after this one and Zellweger took an identical shot from Mallot to the one Bardakov made and because he popped right back up and looked at the ref for an interference call he got nothing. The most frustrating thing about the call on Bardakov was that since Girard blocked the pass up the boards the puck was literally hovering above Haula’s head when he got hit. I’ve already basically sworn off the NFL and NBA because I hate the officiating so much. I hope the NHL doesn’t get there, too.

I agree with Bednar about the way they played but I think a big part of the defensive and puck moving problem is that since Toews went down he’s just thrown all the D-men in a blender and you never know who’s partnering with who. I think it might be worth a shot to staple Solovyov to Makar for a few periods and let the other 4 play as they have through the win streaks. What’s the worst that could happen? Allow 7 goals? If not then leave Manson with Makar and Girard with Burns.
