I’m thankful I didn’t get to watch much of this one. I’m hopeful that this is the end of those Nordique unis. Come on Brent. Get your head out

At what point do the avs admit the powerplay can’t work as it is? You can’t pull any of those guys off the PP, they’re too good, but where they are susposed to be at on the ice when set up doesn’t work. Mackinnon isn’t Ovechkin, get him out of that spot, put 88 there or maybe 13? It’s insanity, it’s been over a year since the PP worked and they just keep doing the same thing.

I’m really hoping the coaching staff had a conversation with Burns saying if he doesn’t play better, they’re ending his streak. But if they did have that conversation and haven’t pulled him yet, we’re in trouble. It’s forcing them to play one forward short and I think all the switching around lines and defense combos is messing up coverage.

According to EJ, Burns stated he had a bad case of the flu and it has really affected his play. Doubtful that’s the reason but if true, be a team first guy and take yourself out of the lineup. Time for Bednar to be the adult in the room and get Burns off PP2 and swap him with Malinski on the 3rd pairing. He needs to play around 12-13 sheltered minutes per night if he won’t take games off. He’s been so bad lately it’s tough to watch.
Most alarming thing to me has been MB’s play of late. Horribly inconsistent. Looks like he has lost a lot of his confidence.

The Avs have looked like a poorly coached team since the Olympics, and their record leading to the Olympics was not so great either. The coach can decide to sit Burns too.
