The injury theory seems the most likely, but if that were true it would seem obvious for Bednar to sit him for a game or two since our position is effectively locked and not just throw him out there and risk something worse. Maybe he just really feels for his buddy Kadri and wanted to give the Flames a chance to get points and catch STL? It also seems like he’d be incentivized to go for the Art Ross.
