Way too much panic in your words, for me. Not exhaustion. Just a bad game. That’s all.

Possession still 39-19 CF us. Toews turnover wasn’t fatigue, it was just a stupid brain fart. Grubs had a terrible game and his glove hand gave up five goals. The worst player on the PK can’t be your goalie, it wasn’t especially our PK was lousy and needs work, like you wrote. Cale made the biggest mistakes early, and it wasn’t from fatigue, he just sucked ass. To repeat, it was a bad game. That’s all.

We weren’t good, and the game just wasn’t a good rhythm. Refs made a lot of calls. We were bad on the PP. The timing of calls screwed us up. MacK’s penalties were questionable, Rants gets tripped on a PP, and we don’t get a 5 on 3, and the too many man penalty was unbelievably ridiculous…on an icing? Stupid. The refs should be fined for that one.

As for all the deadline talk, I don’t think this game in particular changes the thought process of Joe Sakic. Needs were seen earlier than just this game being an anomaly, not a point of panic because we sucked and it exposed us or anything like that.

I think we’ve needed forward depth for awhile, over d man at the deadline, with a need for a goalie. It’s funny how we all see things differently. We’ll see what Joe thinks, I guess, but I think he’ll go forward depth, goalie and defense in that order.

Good story AJ, agree that this kind of a loss was coming. I think the silver lining is that it happened against Minny. If we do have a playoff series against Minny, then the Avs will be remembering getting blown out in their last game against the Wild as opposed to beating them and being over confident against them to start the series.

Second silver lining, the blues beat Vegas last night.

Agree that the Avs need to address their back up goalie and defense, Burroughs, Patryn, MacDonald are not going to help in the playoffs as Bednar will not play them and the top 3-4 will run out of gas. I still think the Ian Cole trade is biting us along with losing EJ and Byram. Still cheesed about the NHL not suspending Kolessar for his hit on Byram and I see MacDonald will have a hearing.

Still wish they would give their forward prospects a chance. Not a lot of games left to do so before the playoffs. At this point, I would opt for a rested team that has rotated depth players into the lineup to see what they can do prior to the playoff vs winning the division and or presidents trophy. you never know, maybe those young guys will show well and win some games. If they do not rest the lineup prior to the playoffs there is a real chance they are out of gas and flame out in one of the series. That would be a huge and regrettable mistake.
