Nice passion piece, I guess, but the avs are lucky to get anything out of that game. I don’t think it was quite so “doom and gloom” though. To hang with these boys was great, and the way the avs played today made me think they’re ready for a little taste of the playoffs.

They avs look a hell of a lot better than much I’ve seen out of the last ten years. Zadorov was being the prick we need today. Rantanen was beast. Mack was beast. We are on track. It hurt to lose that one late, but it could have been much worse. Good game.

Hell of a fun game to watch, no doubt. Future looks great. But the present isn’t irrelevant and letting points slip away is how you end up finishing your season the first week of April.

I’m not gonna argue there, AJ. You’re totally correct. A loss is a loss, and it stings. I’ve gotta say I feel much better pulling a point out of a game like this than the last couple of embarrassments to the oilers or that blowout to Calgary last weekend, however. At least in this one, I felt like we had a fair effort against a great team instead of not showing up at all against a poor one, that’s all.

Feels a bit more like a step in the right direction, even if we may not make it to the second season. I was mostly happy with the resiliency against the tough team and strong cup contender.

It’s tough to stomach. I agree.

The one HUGE terrifying habit this team has is giving up goals late in periods and games. They have arguably left 3-5 pts on the table because of this trait that could very well be their undoing when it comes to making the playoffs.

I like the use of the verb betray in this phrase, “…Varlamov was apparently on another planet mentally and it slipped past him for the softest overtime goal imaginable, betraying all the other good work done by the Avalanche…”

WTF Varly?!?

The Preds have nowhere to go but . . . not up. Peaking too early.
