I’ve never been a big fan of hockey fights, but I’m also not a fan of having Landeskog risk his hands fighting Greenway. I thought the collision wasn’t intended to be injurious. Your site has not been kind to 56 but I could see last year how hard it was for anyone to play against Vegas with Kolesar and Reeves. I’m glad 56 is on the AVS, not St Louis or Minney.

The problem is that MacDermid’s only discernable skill on this team is deterrent/fighter. He regularly gets caved-in by the opposition who’s playing actual hockey. How many GA resulting from his lack of real hockey skills are you willing to accept for the handful of fights/messages sent?

We would be sooooo lucky if every division rival had a roster spot reserved for a MacDermid-type. At least two of our lines would FEAST on that guy. Reaves and Kolesar aren’t MacDermid. Those two are useful hockey players who are also dirty as hell. NOBODY was clamoring for MacDermid on their team. The Avs massively overpaid for him and have struggled to find a role for him all season. He doesn’t fit with the team structure or style at all, but manages to be useful once every two or three weeks by punching somebody. I personally don’t think that’s enough to offset he utter lack of fit with Avs-style hockey.
