I was all aboard with MacK from the beginning, and constantly got ribbed by one of my buddies for being a fan as he didn’t straight out dominate. What I reminded my buddy was how young he still is, hell he is almost 2 YEARS younger than Paxton Lynch, but he just completed his FIFTH pro season. So excited to watch him play and even potentially get better (is that really possible?) and lead the Avs to another Cup!

I know I have massive bias as an Avs fan, and also recency bias, but to my eyes that was one of the most dominant and fantastic seasons by any player ever. Granted I’ve only been watching the NHL for a little more than 20 years. They ended up the top line in hockey this season, by point and goal production, right? AJ I know you don’t like Bednar’s “crutch” line (Sodo’s). But by the numbers, weren’t they also one of the most successful lines in hockey this season? Just looking at offensive production by a shut down line, that is. They weren’t bad at shut-down either.

After belatedly reading this, and totally agreeing with the article, it strikes me that the DPR grade was a B. Is it possible that the DPR may be overweighting Corsi a bit? I know that possesion is critical in today’s stats, but Corsi is still only a rough measurement of it and last I checked the object of the game is to score goals.
