We all want to see what he can do when he stays healthy for a full season. Hopefully this coming one will show us that. He’s a great guy and really cares for this team. I just hope we can win it all while he’s here.

Good write up and I agree on most fronts. One thing, though, where we don’t see eye to eye: saying Johnson should be able to get 30-40 points doesn’t really make much sense to me. While Johnson did only manage 25 pts this season, his .4 ppg already puts him at that pace (he’d have had about 33 points if he played the full season). Knowing how much talent he has, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want him him to knock on the door of 50 points in a season.

I think (unfortunately) we will come to regret this contract in the next few years.. Injures will just get worse with age with his history. I can’t think of any successful nhl’ers with such an injury tract that have happy endings.. They need to find his replacement ASAP.

Or, the glass is half full and the mighty Condor is going to get what he deserves – several injury free seasons and some Stanley Cups to go with them. Yes, definitely what I said.
