Yeah, I love that movie. Still haven’t read the book. I always manage to find it on TV and turn it on just as he’s carving “Brooks was here” into the boards.

Ha! I thought AD was talking about Orpik, and I was scratching my head. He was an Av for about as long as it took him to scratch that line and kick the chair. As far as the Redemption goes, this is a rare case where the movie is better than the book. It’s a great short story, don’t get me wrong! But the movie was able to expand the story in such a wonderful way. The book “Different Seasons” itself is a great story in that at the time Steven King was type-casted as a horror writer. So Steve gave the middle finger to those critics and wrote 4 short, great stories outside of the horror genre. They were so great that 3 of the 4 became movies.
