He seems like such a great guy. I was one after that disaster season thinking he didn’t have the goods, yet he won at every level. The incremental growth each year as the roster shaped in the image he wanted the club to play is so visible it is obvious his method works. Great players, excellent system and a dedicated coach=Cups a comin’!

Great analysis, as usual, AJ. It seems this team is determined to win no matter the obstacles. They won’t even acknowledge obstacles.
I was one who thought JB deserved a chance to be good after the first year. That was a good interview question by AD. I was impressed with the candid, well expressed answer. It was almost like he was waiting for someone to ask. Unusual post-game presser stuff.
Actually, Dubnyk is the third back-up used.

On Bednar again: Roy’s first hissy fit led to Cups for the Avs. How cool if his second one does, too.

Good game coverage. Good win for the Avs finding ways to win in some difficult situations. They have what 12-13 games to get their machine well oiled for the playoffs. Hope Kaut can work his way in to the lineup with some good play. He didn’t seem real noticeable though.

Kaut got a touch unlucky because he played in a game with 10 power plays between the two teams. That much special teams time makes it hard to find opportunity for the fourth line to do its thing, especially with Bellemare as a PK ace. I thought he did fine in limited looks. Hard to feel too much either way with such little ice. Hoping he gets multiple games to showcase the goods.

Thanks, that all makes sense. I will second the showing the goods. Hope he makes it real hard for Bednar to take him out of the lineup.

I always love your analysis AJ. The national media is starting to notice the advanced stats now but you and Rudo have been doing it for awhile and it’s the reason why I renewed my sub. I still don’t fully understand them all but that’s okay. They make me sound smart since I live out of the state and most of my hockey conversations are with teams with sad fans (SoCal). P.S. Quit apologizing for being a homer. The closing comments from last night’s POD were awesome.

That Bednar interview is wonderful!
I hope he stays with the Avs for many years to come!
