Hayes and all that are cool and all. I’d rather hear about trading for Bob, and making the 2 “NHL” quality goalies fight for the backup role Dark Knight / pool cue style.

That Barberio play was so fucking bad. I made sure to see the name on the sweater after his controller totally disconnected.

Season high 4 shots for old Barbs today though. Trade him while his value is so damn high?

Am I also seeing a pattern, like, the coaches just can’t play Varly twice in a row, or too many times in a row?
Basically, as soon as we start feeling a little confidence in Varly, he’ll let us down.
Or I wonder if he’s slightly injured again?
It seems to be the same pattern for Gruby.
As soon as he gets hot and we start relying in him he lets us down.
My theory (and I acknowledge my ignorance) is that if the coaches are going to stick with these two goalies, then we truly have to rotate them… keep each one as fresh as possible and yet seeing enough action to not get rusty.

AJ, you touched on the officiating here. This seems to be a vestige of the old game where they would swallow the whistle in certain situations and/ or “even things up”. Except now, we’ve added new interpretations of previously subjective rules. For instance, a stick to the hands should always be called etc… Has there been any discussion in the press box amongst those who can influence the game, as to working towards a more consistent and modern means to calling these games? It has been very frustrating to watch some games have 3rd period penalties called and others not. And, what exactly is the definition of goaltender interference? Does anybody know?
