Yikes! Looks like they get to work on the trap some.

This should be another gut check for the team. They are running low on skilled scorers. Now the D will really have to step up.

Adversity is the spice of life apparently.

Yeah, I’m hoping Varly can step up and steal a couple of games here. We’re going to need some solid goaltending to make up for lost offense.

Sure, injuries suck. But anyone expecting we’d go a whole year without having our top guns missing a bit of time is out to lunch. By the way wasn’t this year originally supposed to be all about development? These types of situations is exactly what you want Bednar and co. to make the most of for the young guns coming up the pipeline. No need to give Bourque, Nieto / Comeau / Wilson / Yak quality minutes / roles over Jost, Greer, Compher, Kerfoot… let the kids see if they can handle 16-18 minutes a night instead of 13-15.. give them some PP time. Give them more O-zone starts.

I’d agree with AJ on the comment in the last podcast – need to be wary about who he’s pairing Girard with on the back end.

Its great that the avs are still playing meaningful hockey here, and learning to win as a group, but let’s keep the eye on the big picture here..
