To generous with some of these grades. MacK can’t pass up shots like that. And honestly not a single player played well enough to win last night. I keep expecting someone from JT, Kerfoot, or Jost to really step up and stake a claim to anchor the 2nd line but holy crap talk about missed opportunities.

Grub played well enough to earn a win.

Overall I agree with your assessment with the exception of Cole and Johnson. I thought Cole made a difference in San Jose and deserved better than C+. Johnson’s desire is never in question. However he had some turnovers in our end of the ice that led to opportunities for Sharks; C+ is a gift.

Has anyone told kerfoot that he is allowed to aim at areas other than center mass?

Hopefully they tell them to look at where you want to shoot the puck. If you look top shelf the better chance it will go top shelf. If Kerfoot is looking at the goalies jersey logo, he is hitting the unwanted target. Kinda like the skiing and mountain biking concept, look at where you want to go when moving at high speed and you will go there. Don’t look at the rock you don’t want to hit.

Boy, if ever there was a time for Greer or even Dries, this is it.

You must have a thing about Jost. When he plays his ass off and doesn’t score we’re told he needs to produce. Then when he plays so well that dumbass Maguire calls him a ‘beast’ *and* scores he gets a B-. Did you even watch him?

Bednar definitely has a thing against Jost. However, Dater has been pretty cool about him in these player grades, calling for him to get more ice time. Finally, FINALLY Bednar put him on the 2nd line (and you know he flirted with promoting Bourque instead) and, hey presto, Jost scores! Imagine that — he gets minutes with players who matches his skill level, and he scores. It was a deflection, but that just means he was in the right position.

If ever there is a time I would like to see Greer replace Sven or Brassard with some much needed energy and physicality on the bottom 6.

I think Kerfoots issue is that all he’s seeing is the goalie due to the fact that he’s been so snake bitten. So he’s just shooting and not really aiming, forcing it. I think a lot of frustration MacK had last night might’ve just been he wasn’t feeling it. Sometimes that happens and it sucks but being someone with the weight of the team on your shoulders every little thing wrong is amplified and you get tenser and tenser. Yes the top line needs to be stars every night but they should be able to have one truly bad one.

Grubauer’s game was an A+ in my book… Game wouldve been 4-1 or worse with any other goalie in there.

Anyone who thinks Greer could help in this series is silly. He couldn’t keep up with the play during the regular season. This is a whole other level of fast.
