Jost had an assist on the first goal.

But according to the NHL app, Jost GOT his first point of the post season – assist on Borque’s goal. Yay Jost!

Hate to say this but EJ is on the downward leg of his career. Couple that with the fact he coughs up the puck every time he is pressured on the boards and with that blocked shot, he really hurt the Avs. Girard looked winded at times. This is the first time the Avs have regressed in how they have played since the 8-0-2 run (last game doesn’t count). This game was very winnable. Let’s hope the Sharks are overconfident now. Time to regroup. here’s a prediction: Martin Jones has started out hot but regresses by game 3 to his early-Vegas-series mediocrity. Then the older Sharks will fade.

Don’t agree that the fourth goal is on Grub. It took a bounce off Makar, luck wouldn’t have even went on net.

Kerfoot is excellent at shooting the puck right into the goalie’s chest

Kerfoot, Soderberg, Brassard, Johnson, and Girard were flat brutal. The sequence where Johnson has his shot blocked (for the millionth time), and Girard playing d back that was correct right up until the point he unfathomable switched off taking away the pass to going towards the shooter throwing his very short body to the ice not only not taking away the shooter but giving up the pass was BRUTAL.

In the future the Avs are going to want Makar to be the best dman in the game, but 4 games into his career as the 3rd pairing not so much.

I don’t think you can pin the fourth goal agaisnt on Grubauer at all. It was just a crazy flukey deflection. The second and third goals against (Thornton’s and Labanc’s) are the ones he wants back I think. The first one too, to a lesser extent (he didn’t have much of a chance on the actual goal there, but it was a juicy rebound he gave up that led to it).

Hey AD, If Avs lose game 2 and Grubauer has another weakish game…Do you think he gets pulled in favor of Varly?
