Have to disagree, not with your comments but with the grade. He started strong but limped out of the season. He regressed imo. I would have to go with a C-. Had his season been the opposite, start weak but ended strong, with the same stats, I would go with a C+. And that -29 can’t be ignored. He didn’t do a whole lot on the PP to mask the bad +/- (looking at you Barrie). I just don’t see how he deserves the “+”.

If you ask me Compher deserves a higher grade. Just for the 2 goals on March 13 and winning PLAYOFF game 5 with a minute to go.

I haven’t looked, but did Jost and Kerfoot tend to taper off as the season progressed? I can wait to see their grades to see. Maybe the entire line regressed a little as they wore down. They were not used to playing so many games.

Kerfoot was up and down. Jost had injury problems so that really slowed down his progress. I think both started to pick up their games, especially when Ghetto came back from injury and paired with those two. But both were fairly invisible in the playoffs. This is what I remember anyways.

What Compfer becomes is almost crucial for the Avs. IMO, what’s best for Avs and him is he becomes the 3C 35-45 pts(remember best case) and is a key penalty killer and face off guy being able to take crucial d-zone starts so top line guys can take more o-zone starts. If he can learn to finish some of those opportunities he’s a valuable middle 6 guy.

I’ll agree with that.
