I’m surprised not to find a mention of the fiasco with Kadri at the end of the game. Of course that’s just one moment in a game where the Avs could have done a lot of other things to pull out a win, but that was some of the worst officiating we’ve seen all year and we should recognize it as such.

I just added it in the end. An oversight on original publication.

Many of us like this team as it’s is but they are playing themselves into trade deadline moves if they can’t find the mental toughness to close out games … and on home ice.

Excellent points. Speaking of points, Makar has only 29, although I have faith he’ll get back up to a point a game soon. I was disappointed with him in our zone tonight, but I think that was rust and he’ll be fine. Faceoffs continue to be a problem. I miss Ryan O’Reilly. Management backed the wrong guy solely due to draft position in that fiasco.

And I miss Joe Sakic but fate and snowblowers are fickle mistresses. Why bring up O’Reilly? He hasn’t been an Av for the last 4 seasons and pieces acquired in his trade have been important parts of the current team.
