The Colorado Avalanche have made a habit of trading away their draft picks under Chris MacFarland (save for the 2024 draft year that gave the Avs Ilya Nabokov), so it was quite the surprise to see them hold onto their picks in the second, third, and fourth rounds.
Now, granted, this is the Avs now under former GM Joe Sakic once again. With the change in the front office, can we expect an improved and more saturated prospect pool to pull from? That remains to be seen, but the players selected in this year’s draft seem to be promising additions to the organization.
In the week following the draft, a few of those players were able to join the organization in Centennial at Family Sports Center for Development Camp.
