You wanna know who the best is? That’s him, Ice Man. That’s the way he skates, ice cold, no mistakes. He just wears ya down, ya get bored, frustrated, do something stupid and he’s got ya.

That spin late in the game in the D zone that sent a Blues forechecker sliding into the boards is an indelible image.

I was glad to get the chance to see him play in person last week in LA. I remember AJ mentioned on one podcast to watch him away from the play to see little things he does that don’t necessarily show up on the TV broadcast and I came away very impressed with his natural abilities and the way he plays. We got a good one for sure! It’s also kind of neat that his first official taste of NHL playoff hockey will be against his former team who did not want to give him up.

Girard has been a revelation – hard to believe the rest of the haul we got in the Duchene trade.
I definitely think this kid is going to make the Avs blueline a dynamic threat for the next 10 + years.

Also – I thought Tyson Jost had his best all around game as an Avs. It’s been very interesting to see him develop this year, and I think if he can bring what he brought last night on a consistent basis, and keep polishing those offensive skills we’ve seen flashes of, I think this guy could be another gem we have in the making.

It’s amazing to think an ‘undersized’ defensemen could be so good in his defensive zone, and also can lay a body check on people like Schwartz. He’s looking more like Drew Doughty than Erik Karlsson, if I had to choose between the two. His ability to get the puck out of the zone cannot be understated.
