Avalanche sign forward Joe Colborne

The Avalanche continue to add to their size as they sign center Joe Colberne to the roster. The 26-year-old Calgary native stands at 6’5″ and 221 pounds. He has 233 games in the NHL, putting up 38 goals and 68 assists. He’s spent the past three seasons with the Calgary Flames and three seasons prior to that with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He’s also a celebrated DU Pioneers alumnus.

He had a career high in goals last year on the back of a really high shooting percentage. A solid depth forward, he has been a center most of his career but he might slide to the wall in Colorado. His deal is worth $5 million over two years with a cap hit of $2.5 million per year.
