NEW YORK – Greetings from the Big Apple, where the Colorado Avalanche will open another season tonight at Madison Square Garden.
Based on the line combinations I’m seeing this morning, these look to be what they’ll be against the New York Rangers.
Andrighetto-MacKinnon-Rantanen
Kerfoot-Duchene-Yakupov
Wilson-Compher-Landeskog
Nieto-Jost-Comeau
That means Carl Soderberg is a healthy scratch. Pretty surprising, given that he’s a $4.75 million player, with three years left on his contract.
The defensive combinations appear to be less certain, and so I’ll update those in a bit.
One note: the Avs will know at noon today whether anyone took Joe Colborne off the waiver wire. If not, the Avs could send him to San Antonio. Or they could keep him around still as a spare forward. More later.
