Phillip Ocon is the latest 2024 prospect to commit to Colorado State.
Ocon, a 6-foot-3, 315-pound offensive lineman out of St. Francis High School in La Canada Flintridge, California, announced the news on Twitter Thursday night.
According to 247Sports, Ocon is a three-star prospect with multiple offers from Mountain West schools. Air Force, San Jose State and UNLV have all offered him. He also has an offer from Northern Arizona. After participating in a camp at CSU though and receiving an offer from the staff, Ocon ultimately elected to go with the Green & Gold.
Although he plays both ways right now — Ocon has been an offensive and defensive tackle — he is being recruited to play center for the Rams. According to MaxPreps, he’s recorded 71 total tackles, 13 quarterback hurries and three sacks at defensive tackle over the last years.
Along with football, Ocon has a martial arts background in ju-jitsu. He is one of multiple offensive linemen in CSU’s 2024 class that are multi-sport participants. It should benefit him when it comes to dealing with the physicality of the trenches at the D1 level.
