Aqib Talib met with the media Monday afternoon to discus his pending suspension from the NFL. Talib was hoping the punishment wouldn’t be as harsh as it was. “I thought they’d be a little more reasonable,” Talib said. “Just for the simple fact it was not intentional.”
Talib did express remorse for his actions and how it effected his team. “I know I shouldn’t have even gone over there, we have full confidence that we could stop them on that third down, and in that two minutes, get Peyton the ball and score the game winning touchdown to get him his 187th win in dramatic fashion. I cost us the opportunity to go down there and get those points.”
The appeal of Talib’s suspension will probably move swiftly and should have a decision by Tuesday or Wednesday according to Talib. Talib has talked to and apologized to his teammates and coaches privately for letting his emotions get the best of him.
