The Colorado Rockies, after looking lost in the first two games in this series with the Milwaukee Brewers but bounced back in a huge way, earning the split by scoring 11 runs in the last two games.

Superstar Nolan Arenado was once again at the center of the sustained offensive threat.

For the second straight game, the Rockies put a big number on the board in the first inning. Charlie Blackmon bunted for a single of the first pitch of the game and Trevor Story worked a nine-pitch walk.

After David Dahl and Arenado made outs, Ryan McMahon kept the inning alive by loading the bases with a walk. Mark Reynolds promptly unloaded the bases with a line drive three-run double into the right-center field gap.

Raimel Tapia added another run with a broken-bat single up the middle.

Colorado jumped out to a huge lead in the second on a three-run home run for Arenado, his third home run in the last two games. It was a monster shot over the wall in left-center, hit about as well as one can strike a baseball.

Down 7-0, the Brewers were able to get back into the game a bit with a three-run third against Gray.

Singles from Ben Gamel and Eric Thames set the table for a Lorenzo Cain double to right and a Mike Moustakas single that made it a 7-3 game.

But the Rockies reclaimed a few runs of their advantage in the next half-frame thanks to another walk for Story and a laser-beam two-run blast for Dahl to left-center.

The Brewers got one of those back on a solo shot from Ryan Braun. But the Rox made it 10-4 in the fifth on a single from Tony Wolters and a double by Blackmon.

Gray was unable to finish off the sixth and the Brewers kept themselves feeling some momentum by plating another run against him on a Moustakas double and a Braun single.

But Carlos Estevez came on and finished the frame and stayed on for a clean seventh.

Mike Dunn worked a clean eighth and Tapia hit his fourth home run of the season to more insurance.

The Brewers got one back in the bottom of the ninth to make the final 11-6.
