Andre Adams is the future of Colorado football.

The four-star quarterback in the 2027 class committed to Deion Sanders and the Buffs on Tuesday. Colorado offensive coordinator Brennan Marion played a large role in Adams’ recruitment and the dual-threat QB is a perfect fit for the Go-Go offense.

“Elastic dual-threat quarterback with natural playmaking ability that looks destined to play in an RPO-heavy attack with his athleticism,” 247Sports’ Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins said of Andre Adams. “Constantly extends plays with his legs as he dances away from pressure and buys himself time.

“Dangerous in the red zone as he can beat defenders to the pylon with his speed.”

Andre Adams accounted for 4,273 total yards (3,418 passing, 855 rushing) and 48 total TDs (35 passing, 13 rushing) in 2025 as a junior at Antioch (Tennessee) High School. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder completed 71% of his passes and threw just one interception last season.

Colorado was the choice for Andre Adams who picked the Buffs over three other finalists: Florida State, Kentucky and Virginia Tech.

The best game of Adams’ junior campaign went down in the history books. He set a Tennessee state record with 714 total yards (507 passing, 207 rushing) in a single game.

Brennan Marion’s Go-Go offense doesn’t require a dual-threat, but the scheme does lend itself to a running QB and Adams fits that mold.

Andre Adams joins a quarterback room of Julian Lewis (redshirt freshman), Isaac Wilson (redshirt sophomore) and Kaneal Sweetwyne (true freshman). Marion said ahead of Colorado’s spring game that adding another QB might be on the to-do list ahead of the season opener just to get through fall camp.

The Buffs now have two commits in the 2027 class (three-star cornerback Davon Dericho) and Adams should be able to help attract even more.
