Adam Prentice has been nominated for the AFCA Good Works Team for a second consecutive season.
The junior fullback is one of four players from the Mountain West to receive a nomination for the prestigious off-field accolade. In total, 137 nominees were announced in the preseason. The list will be cut down to 22 players on Sept. 12.
Throughout his collegiate career, Prentice has been extremely active in the Fort Collins community.
Not only has the Fresno, Calif., native worked with a Night to Shine, an event designed for students with special needs. But in the last two years, Prentice has visited local elementary schools as a participant in the Reading with the Rams initiative. He also traveled to Jamaica with other student-athletes to help build a park with CSU’s Green and Global Campaign, helps coach youth football and serves as an ambassador of education for visiting students.
“It’s important to do the little things,” Prentice said in a release. “You don’t know how it’s going to affect somebody else or somebody else can see you be involved in these things, and they’ll be like, I want to do that, too. It’s only going to create good and spread that good.
“We all have a lot more to give. I just think if we have that time, then we should give it and use everything in our power. Life is short. You never know when your last day is going to be, so you might as well put everything into everything you do.”
In 2018, Prentice was named one of four team captains by his peers and earned Academic All-Mountain West honors.
