Adam Ottavino placed on disabled list, Carlos Estevez recalled

DENVER – Colorado Rockies reliever Adam Ottavino has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Right-hander Carlos Estevez has replaced him on the active roster.

Ottavino has been one of the backend options for Bud Black this season and has pitched in 23 games. He has struggled with control issues but has been good enough to get the job done more often than not. Ottavio particularly struggled on Monday but was bailed out by Jake McGee.

Estevez rejoins the Rockies from Triple-A. He has already pitched in 14 games at the big league level this season with a 7.30 ERA but 2.14 FIP.
