If he wasn’t already on the national radar, Boise State’s Dylan Riley helped launch his Heisman campaign in Fort Collins on Saturday night, joining Jesse Legree (Oregon State) and Brad Jackson (Texas State) in the growing club of players who absolutely torched a terrible Colorado State defense this fall.
On just the second offensive play from scrimmage, Riley, who is one of the most talented running backs in the country, took a swing pass and went untouched for a 73-yard touchdown.
Then on Boise State’s next possession, after the Rams mounted a scoring drive of their own, Riley added to his highlight reel once again. On 4th & 1 from the CSU 42-yard line, Riley ran straight through a crowded box and easily scampered into the end zone.
Riley racked up 192 rushing yards on 10.2 yards per carry by the time it was all said and done. He had three total touchdowns and 88 receiving yards in the 64-38 blowout win for the Broncos, too. With 300 all-purpose yards, he was just 1 shy of tying Doug Martin’s single-game school record.
