Nikola Jokić’s rebounding numbers are down. Most of his numbers are. That’s not an opinion.

Opinions, however, are abundant and varied on the explanation behind his slow start.

Wherever you land in the debate, it’s hard to argue that he’s meeting his standard as the Nuggets are off to a 3-3 start.

In a Monday night loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver’s inability to grab defensive rebounds sunk them. The Nuggets lost the possession game, thanks in large part to 21 offensive rebounds for the Blazers. Donovan Clingan pulled down nine, while Jokić secured just nine rebounds in total.
