What a waste.
Colorado State fell to 3-5 on Saturday in what was maybe the most disappointing performance of the year.
The 31-14 final score is not as jarring as giving up 59 points to UTSA, or 66 in the debacle at Texas State. Visually it wasn’t quite as overwhelming as watching this CSU team try to tackle BYU running back LJ Martin or cover Oregon State wide receiver Jesse Legree.
But against one of the worst offenses in the FBS — a team who scored less points in the entire non-conference slate than CSU put on the board last week — the Rams were basically a no-show on both sides of the ball.
On the defensive side, which is Utah State’s strength, the Aggies set the tone from the beginning by holding CSU to zero first-half points for the first time this year. And offensively, though you wouldn’t have known it based on Saturday’s matchup, a bad Utah State offense moved the ball at will.
