Jim Mora’s CSU Rams are 2-3 and looking to stop a three-game losing skid.
While the vibes are not quite as high as they were at this same time last month, there’s still plenty of football left to be played this fall.
Despite some of the most recent struggles, particularly on defense, there’s actually quite a few positive trends for CSU going into the second half of the year.
So with all of that in mind, here is the good, the bad and the ugly through five games of the 2026 season.
The Good
While the defense has been downright disastrous of late, the offensive numbers are still really encouraging for the Rams.
CSU has a top 30 scoring offense even despite missing its starting quarterback for close to three full games now (37.4 PPG). If you’re curious, that’s more than twice as many points than the Rams scored on average in 2025 (18.5).

I would like to see the offense use the TE’s more. That would help especially on critical 3rd (and 4th) downs and in the red zone.
