My first thought when I saw McCarron rolling around on the ice was that the World Cup had started early. They wanted a 5 on Manson but they deserved a matching minor for embellishment. I really think that in trying to play the bully game they’ve awakened a beast they can’t handle. The Avs aren’t worried about the Foligni or Trenin or McCarron. They’re taking out their anger on the likes of Hughes and Kaprizov like they should. Even Val looked like a man possessed at time.

Ahcan wasn’t good and neither was Blankenburg before him but those two together would be a better 3rd pair for the Wild than the ones they’ve rolled out. I thought Bogosian looked cooked when the Avs faced him with Tampa in 2022 and now he’s an active detriment against anything resembling a forecheck.

I liked the new middle 6 combinations Bednar rolled out. Let’s just get this over and move on to the conference final

I loved the middle six combos from last night. I think Bednar hit on them. I really love the Nelson-Roy combination. Adding Lehkonen to it might be a lot of fun.

Bogosian is a great character guy for them and he’s very well-respected in the organization, but you’re not wrong about his quality of play these days. They have too many “This guy should be a 7” types. Blankenburg would be a huge jolt of life compared to what they’re getting from Bogosian/Hunt.
